Some businesses begin with a business plan. Ours began with a mother who simply loved creating.
Long before Totesation officially came to life in 2023, creativity had already become a way of life in our home. Our mother, Naghma, an art graduate with an eye for beauty, had a remarkable gift for seeing potential where others saw the ordinary. Whether it was transforming simple paper into delicate flowers, crafting decorative wall hangings, or reimagining everyday materials into meaningful pieces of art, she was always creating.
Growing up, our home was never short of craft paper, fabrics, threads, and endless ideas.
We watched creativity become a daily ritual rather than an occasional hobby, and without realizing it, we inherited the same love for making things with our own hands.
Team
That love eventually became Totesation.
Founded in 2023, Totesation is a family-run studio built on the belief that handmade pieces tell stories no machine ever can. Every tote bag that leaves our studio is thoughtfully designed, carefully handcrafted, and finished with patience, precision, and love.
Behind every piece are three people:
Naghma
Founder — Creative Director
The heart and creative soul of Totesation. As our embroidery artist, she transforms ideas into intricate handmade designs.
Haassan
Co-Founder — Operations & Production Lead
The driving force behind bringing our ideas to reality. From coordinating production to ensuring every order meets our standards, he keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Maira
Brand & Creative Lead
The artist behind our hand-painted collections, and manages the brand, marketing, and storytelling — helping shape Totesation's creative journey.
Together, we oversee every step ourselves. From the first sketch to the final stitch, nothing is outsourced. Every order is made in-house, allowing us to maintain the quality, attention to detail, and personal touch that define our work.
Our embroidered collections, in particular, begin with our mother's imagination. She sketches, experiments with thread combinations, adjusts colours, and refines every detail until the design feels just right.
Many of our pieces take hours and sometimes days to complete. Every stitch is placed by hand, every painted detail is carefully layered, and every bag carries the craftsmanship that only handmade work can offer.
We never rush the process because we believe beautiful things deserve time.
To us, a tote bag is more than something you carry.
